We are pleased to share the outcome of our recent recruitment process for an Associate Director to the Market Gardeners Limited Board.

Following a strong level of interest, we have appointed Jasmine Franklin, Director of Franklin Farm, as the next MG Group Associate Director. The Associate Director Programme offers an emerging leader the opportunity to learn and develop in a real boardroom setting, with access to full Board papers, active participation in discussions. It provides valuable insight into board governance and a potential pathway to becoming an MG Group director in the future.
MG Group Board Member Trudi Webb said the calibre of applicants made for a very competitive process.
“We were delighted with the level of interest in this role and the quality of candidates who applied,” said Trudi. “It was a competitive process, and we sincerely thank all applicants for the time and effort they put into their applications. While only one appointment could be made, there will be other opportunities in the future.”
Jasmine was selected for her enthusiasm, strong interest in MG Group, and her desire to grow her governance capability, which the Board sees as an invaluable asset around the table. She is a recent graduate of the Mayfield Governance Development Programme and is keen to build on this foundation through the Associate Director role.
“This programme gives emerging leaders a practical opportunity to learn and contribute in a real boardroom setting,” said Trudi. “Jasmine stood out for her engagement, curiosity, and clear motivation to develop as a board member within our co-operative.”
Franklin Farm is a sixth generation family business based in Waimauku near Helensville, operating across thirty acres and producing around 1,200 cases of celery each week. The Franklin family are long standing MG Group grower shareholders, and Jasmine and her husband Luke took over ownership and day to day management of the business six years ago, with ongoing support from previous generations of the family.
Jasmine said she is looking forward to the opportunity.
“I am really pleased to be joining the MG Group Board as Associate Director,” said Jasmine. “This role will allow me to expand my governance skills, learning from an experienced Board, and contributing my perspective to discussions that shape the future of the MG Group.”
Jasmine will commence her Associate Director term in January 2026.
